How might people live with love, loss and the meaning of life in a solarpunk future? That’s what gets explored in the latest of our film reviews - After Yang. Read it here.
Have you seen After Yang? What did you think of it? So far we’ve reviewed Her, Tomorrowland, 2040 and Remote. Which solarpunk films do you think we should cover next? Let us know in the comments below.
Events Update
Our friends Afroflux have now published the full schedule for their event in Birmingham this 8th June. There will be plenty for sci-fi fans as well as hip-hop, live graffiti art, capoeira and more.
We’re currently listed as one of the exhibitors which we sadly won’t be able to do due to health reasons. We’re still big fans though and definitely encourage you to go if you can. Check out the line up here.
Solarpunk Future 2024 is an event taking place at the Velum Fermentation Brewery in Pittsburgh this 29th June. The organisers Reimagine Jobs describe this as part art festival / part job fair, with the aim of giving all walks of live an opportunity to be inspired by a sustainable future. A few photos from last year’s event are below and for more info on this year click here.
Build solarpunk
The main way this substack grows is people like you sharing it. Help bring a deliciously sustainable future a little closer by passing this on to anyone you think might enjoy a dose of inspiration.
See you in the sunshine,
