In 2019 Australian film maker Damon Gameau asked what we could do to see that his little daughter Velvet could grow up into a deliciously sustainable world rather than one wrecked by climate collapse. That’s the premise of 2040 the 4th in our series “What Solarpunk movies are there?”

Benjamín Maldonado is a 21 year old Chilean doing his BA Cultural Anthropology thesis on solarpunk. He’s created a really interesting survey to try and take the temperature of the scene. It only takes about 5 minutes to complete and he’s said he’ll share the findings.

Artist collective Solarpunk Surf Club are asking for submissions for their latest art show. It will be at the University of Kentucky Bolivar Gallery 3-23rd August 2024. You can submit by using the link here and the deadline to do so is 7th May.
