Solarpunk isn’t only sci-fi, it’s an invitation to start building a deliciously sustainable future now.
Unlike speculative fiction that’s heavy on laser beams and space ships, the heart of what makes more rooted shades of solarpunk exciting are things we can implement today.

Community food growing, tool sharing and supporting or even starting co-ops.
One of the 6 main points of our manifesto is inviting you to SolarPunk It. This means getting involved with making and doing the things that we want to see more of in a solarpunk future.
“The future is already here it’s just unevenly distributed.” is a quote often attributed to William Gibson, pioneer of Cyberpunk. Most people have thought of this in terms of technology.

We think the more important things people need to be inspired to change are economic, political and cultural.
By showing examples of more solarpunk ways of living now we can help inspire people to adopt them more widely so together we make a more deliciously sustainable future a reality.
Here are some examples of solaprunking from London and the UK we find inspiring:
The Transition Town Network. We are donating 10% of sales of SolarPunk Detective Episode 1 to - Transition Town Brixton
The May Project Community Gardens and the just starting Solarpunk Garden
Sharing centres like The Library of Things
Local government and community collaborations like the Participatory City project in Barking and Dagenham
Community power through renewable energy co-ops like those from Repowering London
What are your favourite examples of groups solarpunking it? Let us know in the comments below.
Until Next Time
That's all for this update. If you like what we’re trying to do here and know someone else who might do too then please like, comment and share.
